Influenster ~ Yay or Nay?

I feel like Influenster is quickly becoming an app everyone talks about.

Some have heard about it but are not sure what it is while others have never even heard of the word Influenster in their life!

I’m here to give you everything you need to know about Influenster and whether or not it is worth all the hype it is getting.

What is Influenster?

It’s a website where you can get free stuff sent to you in the mail to review on their website. Signing up if free and there is no membership fee or anything like that.

I’ve created an account, what do I do now?

You start out first by connecting your social media accounts. Your followers from each of your social media accounts add up. That total is considered your “impact score”. The higher your impact score, the more likely you are to be chosen for the next Voxbox. YOUR IMPACT SCORE IS EVERYTHING!

Okay my social media accounts are linked, what’s next?

Complete the snaps on your profile. What are snaps? They are almost like surveys. It’ll ask you about a certain type of product and then you will select which brand of that product that you’ve used. Then you will review the product that you’ve chosen. This step is time consuming but it does help to get you noticed on Influenster as someone who is actively participating and really wants a Voxbox.

How long after I’ve created my account do I start getting emails saying I’m on “the short list”?

It probably took me about two months before I started getting emails saying that I’m on “the short list”. I’ve known people that have started getting emails within a week or so of creating their account. It all depends on how active you are on the Influenster app rating products you’ve used before. Each review boosts your impact score as well. Basically everything you do on the app boosts your impact score. I’m going to say this again, so you won’t forget it: YOUR IMPACT SCORE IS EVERYTHING!

How do I know when they’ve chosen me for a Voxbox?

You’ll get an email that says “You’re on the short list for the next Voxbox”. When that happens, you have to complete a survey through the link in the email. From that survey, they determine if you are a perfect match for the Voxbox(if you’ve met all the criteria they’re looking for). If you are, you’ll get another email that says something like “You’re in!”. At that time, you know you should be expecting the Voxbox in the mail in the next couple of days.

What should I include in my reviews?

I would include any information that you’d want to know before you bought a product. Is it good? If it’s makeup, did it last all day? Why you did or didn’t like the product. I would recommend though that in every negative review you do, you would also include a positive about that product in the review. For example, I tried a food item they sent to me and I just did not really like it. In my review, I told them I didn’t like it because of the texture to it, but I did like the concept behind the food item.

How often should I go on Influenster and review a product?

There’s a fine line between reviewing religiously and not reviewing at all. I wouldn’t go out of my way to review every product I use at every second of every day. I would however, go on there and review products that I’m obsessed with or products I just can’t stand. Normally both those lists are fairly short and I can always count on me having the most to say about those types of products.

What happens when I finally get my first Voxbox?

When you first get it, I would go into the app and pull up your profile. In your profile, I would click on the button for the Voxbox you got that says “Start Campaign”. Once in there, I would click the button that says “I’ve received my Voxbox”. That is where you’d scan the QR code found on the card within the Voxbox you got. After that, you can complete the extra items within the campaign that will add points to your impact score.

Final Verdict: Would I recommend Influenster?

YES I WOULD! I love Influenster. At first, I wasn’t too happy about putting in the time and effort it took to boost my impact score to a certain level. Now that I’ve gotten my first Voxbox, I realize that it was all worth it. My mindset now is: all you can go from here is up. Your boosted impact score can only go up, not down. Unless you’re constantly losing (a crazy amount) followers on your social media accounts. It’s free, so what do you have to lose?

Comment your thoughts on Influenster. Do you like it? Have you gotten a Voxbox?

And if you want, you can share this post on your social media sites.

xoxo Morgan

  2. Thanks for breaking it down step-by-step. I signed up for it, but wasn’t quite sure what to do, or where to go next. Now I know, and I’ll head back to my profile and do what’s necessary to hopefully make it on to that shortlist and receive a box!

    1. I’m glad I could be helpful! You’re probably not the only one out there that wasn’t sure what to do and I learned what to do from a YouTube video made by someone that I just happened to stumble upon.
